This is beautiful, sad, and poignant. Very well done.
In 2014, my daughter and I spent ten days in Beverly Hills. We stayed in the home of an actor friend of hers. We aren’t Beverly Hills type of people — far from it. In fact, I’m more like the Beverly Hillbillies, before they struck oil. But my daughter has a knack for meeting people from all walks of life and making unusual things happen.
It was a fun, once in a lifetime experience. But I was shocked and dismayed to see that there were homeless people everywhere, all around the streets of Beverly Hills. There were the rich, the famous, multi-million dollar houses — and homeless.
We spent a day on beautiful Venice Beach and it was the same there.
I have seen this first hand in other areas of the states as well as skid row …
This is very touching and hits you in the heart…
Thanks to Opinionated Man for leading me here to this great blog…Thank you for writing this too…

Some have bad luck, some make bad choices, some are victims. Regardless, our systems of ownership and private property make it incredibly difficult to alter this reality of marginalized people. So frustrating.
